Storyline

Before Dorothy ever sets foot in the Land of Oz, the secret tale of its history is revealed in Wicked. Elphaba is an outcast at Shiz University due to her green complexion. As roommates, Elphaba and Glinda eventually develop an unusual bond despite their dissimilarities.

Despite their apparent compatibility, the relationship between Elphaba (the Wicked Witch of the West) and Galinda (later Glinda the Good Witch) is tested by their polar opposite personalities and perspectives on life. Madame Morrible notices Elphaba's magical abilities and says she will introduce her to the Wizard of Oz. But is the Wizard all that he seems? All that glitters is not gold down this yellow brick road.
