Nuevo Teatro Alcalá, initially named Coliseo Pardiñas, opened its doors In 1972. Later renamed Coliseo Alcalá and Teatro Alcalá Palace, it witnessed renowned flamenco and zarzuela performances. After its closure in 1986, businessman Alejandro Romay and architect Margarita Massó rebuilt it as the current Nuevo Teatro Alcalá in 2001.
